Reseña de una de las bandas revelación de este Japan Nite 2011 quienes se despidieron de su fanaticada el pasado 21 de octubre en Tokio. – Review of this J-band revelation of this Japan Nite 2011 who said goodbye to her fans last October 21^st in Tokyo.

Cuando las olas de la música se cruzan entre sí, siempre el resultado es el mismo: una ola decrece y la otra emerge, de forma helicoidal. Esto hace que los movimientos, tendencias y protagonistas de la música universal entren en ese juego donde marcan en un punto crucial del tiempo y espacio a toda una generación, dejando un registro indeleble en la historia.

Algo similar sucede con una banda que, a pesar de su corta edad, dejó una huella difícil de superar para sus fans, e incluso en los diversos medios especializados en J-music. Hystoic Vein fue un cuarteto de chicas que tenían una sincronizada química para enamorarnos con un coctel explosivo a nuestros sentidos (¡cuidado!, debe servirse de inmediato para sentir sus efectos): música estridente hacia el noise, catalogada por ellas mismas como Monster Rock más una presencia hipnotizadora de su vocalista quien en su puesta en vivo con trazos geniales de teatralidad nos sacudían con su provocador baile, el Inko Dance. Resultado: una gran euforia acompañada de un hipnotismo sonoro cuyos oídos pueden una y otra vez recibir descargas de sus canciones junto con alteraciones visuales de un performance exquisito con visos de terror dulce y anacronismo en sus letras.

Glamour mezclado con terror, dulce voz en medio de letras oscuras y una puesta en escena que cautiva y contagia a un público efervescente, fueron méritos suficientes para que Austin, New York, Chicago, Seattle, Las Vegas, Los Ángeles y San Francisco las amara. Quizás, sólo quizás, muchas lentes disparaban frenéticamente sus flashes en esa banda, considerada la atractiva revelación musical en esta última versión del Japan Nite, su primera y única incursión internacional, de la mano de su madrina y amiga, Audrey Kimura con su sello Benten.

Mi recuerdo de ellas fue muy especial, ya que ambos teníamos algo en común: éramos inmigrantes en este país, hablando poco ingles y algo tímidos. Pero la música se convirtió en nuestra forma de lenguaje en el que en una corta y, quizás, accidentada entrevista en términos lingüísticos nos llevara después a derretir ese hielo, a grabar los saludos para Colectivo Bunka, a hablar un poquito de su alegría, nervios y esperanza con su primera vez en Estados Unidos y para generar esa conexión que luego, con el paso del concierto, disfruté no sólo con ellas sino con las demás bandas, en el que esa fría noche neoyorquina de marzo en el Bowery Ballroom, en pleno Chinatown, pudimos celebrar a pesar de los recientes acontecimientos que sucedieron en esos días con respecto al desastre natural en su país. Sin embargo, las cosas buenas se acaban, y por desconocidas razones, Hystoic Vein se despidió de este mundo musical. Lo hizo el pasado 21 de octubre en el Basement Bar, en la agitada y apasionante Tokio, la misma ciudad donde la música emerge de sus calles, edificios y subterráneos, activo caldo de cultivo musical (léase artículo Live From Tokyo). En esa gran urbe, Inko unió su talentosa voz con las mágicas cuerdas rítmicas de Youkaku, la estremecedora batería de Lyn y el cautivador bajo de Yukary. Juntas fueron dinamita poderosa de una gran fuerza monstruosa desde el 2008, recorrieron diversos lugares para descargar su música, dejando como legado dos mini álbumes: Patron Syndrome y Fake, este último lanzado en febrero de este año.

Pero como escribí al inicio de estas líneas, ya hay una esperanza: ZZZ (inicialmente podrían llamarse así) es el nuevo proyecto musical de Lyn, Youkaku y Yukary, quienes están planeando su debut el próximo 3 de noviembre, según sus cuentas de Twitter. Se habla además de un segundo show a finales del mes entrante. Seguramente este trío talentoso nos darán mucha música, mucha estridencia y mucho delirio, porque el talento revelador de estas mujeres brota a flor de piel. Y estoy además muy seguro que Benten les dará una mano para que surja este nuevo grupo, en el que estaremos informando cada paso.

Hystoic Vein fue de esas bandas que sabían que generaban algo diferente, que rompían estructuras como castillos de naipes al estremecerse por lo nuevo, por lo que una vez más, como fanático de la música les dejo este mensaje: ¡Gracias por todo chicas!

When the waves of music cross each other, always the result is the same: a wave decreases and another emerges, in a helical movement. This causes the movements, trends and universal music players come in that game which marked a crucial point in time and space of a generation, leaving an indelible record in the history.

Something similar happens with a band that, despite her young age, left a hard to beat for their fans, and even in various media specializing in J-music. Hystoic Vein was a quartet of girls who had a chemical synchronized to fall in love with an explosive cocktail of our senses (warning! must be served immediately to feel its effects): noise loud music, tagged like Rock Monster by themselves as more a mesmerizing presence of her vocalist who on her live stage with great strokes of theatricality to shake us with her provocative dancing, Inko Dance. Result: a great euphoria accompanied by a sound whose ears can hypnotism and again receive downloads of her songs along with a visual impairment exquisite performance with hints of sweet terror anachronism in her lyrics.

Glamour mixed with terror, sweet voice in the midst of dark lyrics and a stage show that captivates and spread effervescent audiences, were sufficient grounds to Austin, New York, Chicago, Seattle, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco acclaimed with love. Maybe, just maybe, many lenses frantically shooting their flashes in that band, considered attractive musical revelation in this latest version of the Japan Nite, its first and only international tour, with the help of her godmother and friend, Audrey Benten Kimura with her Benten label.

My memory of them was very special because we both had something in common: we were immigrants to this country, speaking little English and we were a little shy. But music became our form of language which in a short and perhaps uneven in terms of language interview then took us to melt the ice, to record greetings to Colectivo Bunka, talk a little bit of joy, nerves and hope about her first time in the U.S. and to generate the connection then, over the concert, I enjoyed not only with themselves but with other bands in that cold March night in New York at the Bowery Ballroom in Chinatown, we were celebrating in spite of recent events that happened in those days with regard to natural disaster in their country. However, the good things run out, and for unknown reasons, Hystoic Vein said goodbye to this musical world. She did last October 21^st at Basement Bar in the busy and exciting Tokyo, the same city where the music emerges from its streets, buildings and underground musical hotbed active (read article Live From Tokyo). In that great city, Inko joined her talented voice with magic rhythmic strings by Youkaku, the shattering drum by Lyn and Yukary with her captivating bass. Together were dynamite powerful of a monstrous force since 2008, toured several places to download her music, leaving a legacy: two mini albums called Patron Syndrome and Fake, recently released in February this year.

But as I wrote at the beginning of these lines, there is a hope: ZZZ (initially could be this band name) is the new musical project of Lyn, Yukary & Youkaku who are planning their debut on November 3^rd, in their Twitter accounts. Also, there is a rumor for a second show, perhaps end of next month. Surely this talented trio will give us great music, great shrillness and much delirium, because the talent of these women revealing skin-deep springs. And I’m also very sure that Benten will give them a hand for the emergence of this new group, which we will notice you in each step.

Hystoic Vein was one of those bands who knew that generated something different, breaking structures like houses of cards to tremble for the new, so again, as a music fan I leave this message: Thanks for all, girls!
