She is considered such as Shakira Chinese, about her fans when they see her sing in live. This is because Ayi Jihu confessed us that loves anything that sounds from Latin America, because it is music that gets your attention and spread as a way to fall in love with the tropical sounds that it’s sometimes pushed away the land of dynasties ancient and imperial dragons, in the small village of Leibo (province of Sichuan) but let you, dear reader, read their impressions of issues relevant to its beginnings and its current projects and how they control their fears and panics to turn them into pop and reggae.
C. B. Thank you very much to attend us in this interview for Colombia and Latin America. Tell us, how did you meet to play together and to raise Ayi Jihu?
Ayi Jihu. I grew up listening to traditional Yi music in China, and when I got into Western music I was really influenced by Michael Jackson. Where I grew up he was one of the few artist we got hear and I just fell in love with him and his music. Later on when I came to Europe I fell in love with reggae and raga music and dance, as well as R&B.
C. B. What inspires Ayi Jihu topics to compose?
A. J. Like most artist, I’m inspired by what I see and feel around me. I have always been a bit of a rebeld and so my first album was a bit rebellious. I wanted to break free from some of the Chinese traditions and views which control women, I wanted to show women that they can be sexy, but in control and strong and also intelligent. I didn’t write music like most other Chinese artist only singing about love, love, love. My next album and project is all about fear and how it influences our lives, it makes us hate, it makes us run away from love, it is in so many things we do. My Fear Chaser Chronicles movie is all about fear and the album is going to reflect this and my experiences in fighting my own fears and getting control of my life so that I could fulfill my destiny.
C. B. What is your vision about the Chinese Pop music scene around the world in the present day?
A. J. I do not really have a vision for the Chinese music pop scene. I have a vision for good music made and perfomed by Chinese artist. I have a vision of Chinese artist truly being able to express themselves and sing about their experiences other than just sing about love. I have a vision of other Chinese artist breaking through into R&B, Latin, Rock and Reggae. I think before this happen more Chinese artists need to immerse themselves in the cultures of others in order to truly understand the music.
C. B. In the Ayi Jihu history, what is the most important concert that you never forgive? Why?
A. J. That is a difficult question; I think the most important concert I ever did was my first one at the Sands Casino in Macau. I was so scared looking out at over 6,000 people in this huge casino and I almost just froze. I wanted to just run of the stage and hide in the corner. Something inside of me just won’t let me give in and I just went for it. It was not my best performance, it was quite bad, but the people clapped and I got through it. I have never looked back from there.
C. B. Did you know or did you listen any Latin America band or musician? (If your answer is no, what would you like to know of Latin America about your music?)
A. J. I think Timeless by Sergio Mendes is one of my favorite albums. It’s one of the few albums, where every song is great. The album is a classic and has so many great artists on it too, including India Arie one of my favorite artists. However I also love Shakira, in fact some people have called me the Chinese Shakira. If you are a big fan of Reggae and Ragga music like I am you will love Latin music the pulses of the music are almost the same, unlike rock or pop Latin music and reggae music uses the off beats so much more. I have so much more to learn about Latin music and I hope to go to Brazil and experience the carnival and work with Latin musicians and singers in the future.
C. B. Briefly, tell us how was the process to compose, produce and release Unify? What did you be the fans answers?
A. J. I do all my writing with my producer Stevie Eagle E. We have developed this way of working together now and we almost read each other’s minds. Sometimes we start with a instrumental that Stevie has put together for me and sometimes it’s just a beat or a baseline and we start to construct a song. We work quickly at first and then I go away and work with it on my own a bit and then we get back together and go over it again until we are happy.
C. B. What plans do you have this year?
A. J. This year is already almost over and I have already achieved most of my goals, but so many more things have happened. I would like to finish the pre-production on my movie Fear Chaser Chronicles and start production in 2012. The first Fear Chaser Chronicles Album will be out this year too. I have already seen my online Fear Chase game become a great success and be played for millions of kids worldwide. I am also excited about my new TV show in America, The Big Stage. I will start shooting that towards the end of the year. As long as I can keep going forward doing what I love I will happy.

Y es que Ayi Jihu nos confesó que le encanta todo lo que suene desde Latinoamérica, porque es una música que contagia y llama su atención, como una manera de enamorarla de esos sonidos del trópico que a veces la distancia los empuja hacia las tierras de dinastías imperiales y dragones milenarios, en la pequeña aldea de Leibo (provincia de Sichuan); pero dejemos que usted amable lector lea sus impresiones de los temas relevantes sobre sus inicios y sus actuales proyectos así como su forma de controlar sus miedos y temores para transformarlos en música pop y reggae.
C. B. Muchas gracias por atendernos en esta entrevista para Colombia y Latinoamérica. Cuéntanos, ¿cómo fueron tus inicios para ser hoy dia Ayi Jihu?
Ayi Jihu. Crecí escuchando Yi, que es música tradicional de China, y cuando me metí en la música occidental estaba realmente influenciada por Michael Jackson. Donde crecí era uno de los pocos artistas occidentales que se escuchaban y me encantó tanto él como su música. Más tarde, cuando llegué a Europa me enamoré del reggae, la música raga y la danza, así como del R & B. (Ryhtmic & Blues).
C. B. ¿Qué temas inspiran a Ayi Jihu para componer?
A. J. Como la mayoría de los artistas, me siento inspirada por lo que veo y siento a mi alrededor. Siempre he sido rebelde y por eso mi primer disco refleja lo que era, con un sonido un poco rebelde. Con ello, quise lanzarlo desde algunos de los sonidos tradicionales chinos y de varios puntos de vista del control de la vida de las mujeres, quería mostrar a las mujeres que pueden ser sexys, pero además con el poder de dirigir y controlar su destino siendo fuertes e inteligentes. No escribí la música como la mayoría de otros artistas chinos que sólo cantan sobre el amor, el amor, el amor. Mi próximo álbum y mi proyecto tiene que ver con el miedo y cómo éste influye en nuestras vidas, haciéndonos odiar, haciéndonos huir del amor, cosas que está inmerso en muchas situaciones que hacemos a diario. Mi proyecto cinematográfico llamado Fear Chase Chronicles tiene que ver con el miedo y el disco que estoy produciendo va a reflejar esto junto con mis experiencias en combatir mis propios miedos y mantener el control de mi vida para que pudiera cumplir mi destino.
C. B. ¿Cuál es su visión sobre la escena de la música pop china en todo el mundo hoy día?
A. J. Realmente no tengo una visión de la escena musical del pop chino. Tengo una visión de la buena música compuesta y tocada por los artistas chinos. Tengo una visión del artista chino en la que realmente son capaces de expresarse y cantar acerca de sus experiencias que no sólo se basan en temas de amor. Tengo otra visión de otro grupo de músicos chinos produciendo y tocando temas en R & B, música latina, rock y reggae. Creo que antes de que esto suceda, más artistas chinos necesitan sumergirse profundamente en las diversas culturas para comprender verdaderamente la música.
C. B. En la historia de Ayi Jihu, ¿cuál es el concierto más importante que nunca olvidas? ¿Por qué?
A. J. Es una pregunta difícil; creo que el concierto más importante que he hecho fue mi primera vez debutando en el Casino Sands en Macao. Estaba tan asustada mirando a más de 6.000 personas en este gran casino y me quedé solamente congelada. Quería correr del escenario y esconderme en una esquina. Pero algo dentro de mí simplemente no me permitió hacerlo, así que me fui a cantar. No fue mi mejor actuación, fue bastante mala, pero la gente aplaudió y me di a conocer con mi público gracias a ese show. Desde entonces, nunca he retrocedido.
C. B. ¿Conoces o has escuchado algún artista o banda latinoamericana? (Si tu respuesta es no, ¿qué te gustaría saber de Latinoamérica sobre su música?)
A. J. Creo que Timeless de Sergio Mendes es uno de mis discos favoritos. Es uno de los pocos discos donde cada canción es grandiosa. El álbum es un clásico y reúne varios artistas grandiosos como India Arie, una de mis artistas favoritas. Sin embargo, también me encanta Shakira, de hecho, algunas personas me han nombrado como la Shakira china. Si eres un gran fanático de la música reggae y ragga como yo, te encantará los pulsos y beats de la música latina ya que son similares a otras músicas. A diferencia del rock o del pop latino, la música reggae y latina utilizan el mismo compás, beats y más ritmo. Tengo que aprender mucho más sobre la música latina, y espero poder ir a Brasil y vivir la experiencia del carnaval, pero tambien trabajar con músicos y cantantes latinos en el futuro.
C. B. En pocas palabras, cuéntanos cómo fue el proceso de componer, producir y lanzar Unify. ¿Cuál fue la respuesta de los fans?
A. J. Trabajo en conjunto (incluso escribir los temas) con mi productor Stevie Eagle E. Hemos desarrollado ahora esta forma de trabajar juntos y leemos casi nuestras mentes. A veces empezamos con un instrumental que Stevie había insertado para mí y, a veces es sólo un beat o una base rítmica y empezamos a construir una canción. Trabajamos rápidamente al principio y luego me voy a trabajar en eso con mi propio ritmo y beat un poco y luego nos reunimos de nuevo hasta que vamos una vez más para unificar todo y eso nos hace felices.
C. B. ¿Cuáles son tus planes este año?
A. J. Este año está terminando deprisa y he cumplido la mayoría de mis objetivos, pero además han pasado otras cosas. Me gustaría terminar la pre-producción de mi película Fear Chaser Chronicles y comenzar la producción en 2012. El primer álbum (soundtrack) de Fear Chaser Chronicles saldrá este año también. Ya miré mi primer videojuego en línea homónimo y llegará a ser un gran éxito y será jugado por millones de niños en todo el mundo. También estoy entusiasmada con mi nuevo programa de televisión en Estados Unidos, The Big Stage. Voy a iniciar a disparar sintonía con este debut al final del año. Así mismo, sigo adelante haciendo lo que me encanta y me hace feliz para que dure más tiempo.
