¡Apoteósico! Una palabra que, aunque corta, describiría la marejada de emociones que vivimos todos los asistentes al famoso festival internacional Emergenza, celebrado el pasado 24 de marzo en la Sala Eggman, en pleno corazón de Shibuya (Tokio), para ver coronar a una de las bandas que ya habíamos entrevistado y dado nuestro apoyo: LOST VECTOR. De esa forma, ellos ganaron con contundencia el pase que los llevará a disputar la final el próximo 6 de julio en Shibuya O-East. Si ganan, serán los representantes nipones para la gran final que se disputará en Alemania a mediados de agosto.

El viaje al éxito inició semanas antes, cuando al arribar a Tokio me reuní nuevamente con los chicos para asistir a uno de sus últimos ensayos y a una serie de conciertos previos, uno de ellos el pasado 13 de marzo en la famosa sala Shimokitzawa Reg. Lo que más me sorprendió fue el nuevo integrante de la banda, haciendo una verdadera química musical: el nuevo guitarrista Toto. “Nunca había intentado este tipo de música antes, me preocupé un poco por ello pero al final sentí el apoyo de la banda y ahora estoy aquí”, relató este nuevo integrante durante una corta entrevista. Toto tenía una amplia experiencia con bandas del género pop rock y visual rock, y desde la secundaria en el 2006 no ha parado de tocar hasta el día de hoy. Y en este concierto se notó (como había mencionado) esa química musical con LOST VECTOR. Las emociones que vivimos tanto al frente de la tarima como en el backstage nos dieron un buen indicio que era posible que se lograría la victoria en Emergenza.
Y por fin el día llegó, las semifinales de Emergenza Japan. Quedamos en la entrada de la Sala Eggman a las 5 de la tarde, Tetsu y Seiji estuvieron para recibirnos. Por la expresión de sus caras pude apreciar los nervios y la excitación pero al mismo tiempo mucha confianza y fuerza. El resto de la banda nos esperaba en el interior y entramos tras fumarnos el cigarrillo de rigor.
Comenzó el concurso y según transcurrieron los minutos la gente empezó a ocupar todo el recinto. Tras la finalización de cada actuación, el jurado procedía a votar a mano alzada, lo que supone una ventaja poder ir contando los votos que iba obteniendo cada banda, aunque también era un arma de doble filo, ya que la tensión iba en aumento.
Antiguos ex miembros de LOST VECTOR como Yosuke y Yuji también acudieron a apoyarnos; por supuesto, ellos también han formado parte de este sueño para conseguir la meta de Alemania. Seiji me preguntó que cómo había visto a las demás bandas, si obtuvieron muchos votos, y yo le contesté la verdad, que lo estaban haciendo bien pero que la única banda que ganará serán ellos, porque ellos tienen algo, no sólo la música, sino la fe de que lo lograrán. Luego, ensayo, calentamiento, bromas, saltos al aire y gritos de guerra, LOST VECTOR estaba listo para entrar en escena tras el aviso del staff de Eggman.
Luego de su presentación, todo sería al mejor estilo de un filme de Hitchcock: suspenso, nervios y ansiedad, ya que se debía esperar a que el concurso finalizara para el conteo de los votos. Mientras, una charla con los amigos y fumarnos unos cigarrillos hacían menos pesada la espera.

El tiempo de espera había finalizado con un llamado. Respiramos hondo y todos juntos volvimos a entrar a la sala. Fue el momento preciso: “El ganador es… ¡LOST VECTOR!” Sí, lo hemos conseguido, abrazos, saltos, sonrisas, algunas lágrimas de felicidad que tuve que contener. Definitivamente el duro esfuerzo y la dedicación total de los chicos recibieron esta gran recompensa.

Ahora, un merecido descanso para disfrutar la ciudad, pero luego de vuelta al ensayo, a la preparación y la concentración. Porque la final ya está cada vez más cerca, el último paso está por darse, Shibuya los espera. Y Colectivo Bunka estará presente en esta finalísima cubriendo lo mejor de LOST VECTOR y de la música asiática por el mundo.

Apotheosis! A word that, although short, describe the flood of emotions that we live all attendees at famous Emergenza international music festival, held last 3/24 in Eggman, in the heart of Shibuya (Tokyo) to see the victory for one of the bands we had already interviewed and given our support: LOST VECTOR. That way, they won with strength the pass that will fight the Japanese final contest in Shibuya O-East on 7/6. If they will win, LOST VECTOR will represent Japan to play at grand finale in Alemania next August.
A brief breake to recovery energies.
The journey to success began weeks ago when upon arriving in Tokyo I met again with the boys to attend one of their last rehearsals and a series of previous concerts, one held last 3/13 in the famous hall Shimokitzawa Reg. I surprised me most was the newest member of the band, making a true musical chemistry: Toto, the new guitarist. «I had never tried this type of music before, I worried a bit about it but in the end I felt the support of the band and now I’m here,» said this new member for a short interview. Toto had a wide experience with pop rock and visual rock bands, and from high school times in 2006 he has not stopped playing until today. And this concert I was noted (as I mentioned above) that musical chemistry with LOST VECTOR. The feelings that we live both in front of the stage to backstage we got a good signal that it was possible to achieve a victory in Emergenza.

And finally, the day came, the Emergenza Japan semifinals. We were at the entrance of the Eggman at 5 p.m. Tetsu and Seiji were to greet us. From the look on their faces I could see the nerves and excitement but also a lot of confidence and strength. The rest of the band was waiting for us inside and we could smoke a cigarette after rigor.
The contest had started and as the minutes passed people began to occupy the entire room. After completion of each band performance, the judges proceeded to vote by freehands, which is an advantage to go counting the votes that each band was getting, but he was also a double-edged sword, as the tension grew.
Former ex LOST VECTOR as Yosuke and Yuji also attended to support us; of course, they also have been part of this dream to achieve the goal of Germany. Seiji asked me how he had seen the other bands, if you get a lot of votes, and I told him the truth, that they were doing well but they will be only band that will win because they have something, not only music, but faith that they will. Then, rehearsal, heating, jokes, jumps into the air and war cries, LOST VECTOR was ready to step in after the advice from staff of Eggman.
After his presentation, everything would be like the style of a Hitchcock film: suspense, nervousness and anxiety, due to they had to wait for the end of the contest to count the votes. Meanwhile, a conversation with friends and could smoke a cigarette made less heavy our waiting.
Waiting time had ended with a call. Breathe deeply and together we re-entered the room. It was the right time: «The winner is … LOST VECTOR!» Yes, we did it, hugs, jumps, smiles, tears of happiness that I had to contain. Definitely, the hard work and total commitment of the boys received this great reward.
