El nuevo año arrancó con esta entrevista realizada a este quinteto de VK japonés quienes lanzan nuevo disco en Enero y participarán oficialmente en el USB Vol. 5, pronto a ser lanzado en Febrero. –  New Year started with this interview to this VK Japanese quintet who will release his new album on January, and will participate officially for USB Vol. 5^th to be released coming soon in February.

El nuevo año ha empezado con pie derecho para el movimiento musical asiático. Lanzamientos de nuevas producciones se vislumbran en el horizonte para este mes. Y especialmente para los amantes del visual kei japonés, ya que el próximo 21 de enero se lanzará el nuevo single de Tokami llamado Luminiscence, pero además será la presentación oficial de sus dos nuevos miembros: el guitarrista Kazuha y Reno en el bajo. De ese modo, Tokami adopta un nuevo aire para recibir el 2015 con su descarga de VK renovando su visión de llegar a todas las direcciones con su música.

Desde el 2005, esta banda empezó a sonar de la mano de 1000 (Sen), su primer vocalista Kaito y Tomo en las guitarras. Y su debut fue en un concierto celebrado en el Urawa Narciss el 2 de abril, para luego irse a recorrer varios sitios de Tokio. Su carrera discográfica empezó con su Shock Rock of the Darkness, el 30 de enero de 2006. En el 2007, lanzaron sus discos Shock Rock of the Fragments y Silence of Angel. Tiempo después, Tokami experimentó la salida de su vocalista y guitarrista pero eso no le impidió detener su sueño. En el 2008 lanzaron Mist of Cherry Blossoms y Rebirth of the Darkness. El 2009 vino con la llegada del actual vocalista, Agato, y el DVD Nibiiro no ame, sashidasareta hidarite. Cathedral es su disco más conocido, lanzado el 23 de agosto de 2010. Desde entonces, la banda ha estado siempre en giras, lanzamientos en vivo de sus singles y discos y ahora con la incorporación de estos dos nuevos integrantes, Tokami se transforma en un sólido quinteto quienes acompañarán a 1000, al guitarrista K y a Agato.

Sus deseos este 2015 es llegar más lejos a todos los rincones donde sus fans del VK puedan deleitar sus oídos y por ello, quieren apuntar hacia nuestro continente latinoamericano al sumarse como invitado internacional en el próximo United Sound Bunka Vol. 5º, Edición Continental, el cual les ayudará a explorar nuevos seguidores, como los dioses omnipotentes pero en el universo VK. Colectivo Bunka. Muchas gracias por aceptar esta entrevista exclusiva para Colombia y Latinoamérica. ¿Podrían contarnos como se conocieron para tocar juntos, en pocas palabras? Y, ¿cuál es el significado del nombre de la banda?

1000. Tal como fueron los inicios, por medio de audiciones y amigos que nos apoyaron. Y sobre el nombre, hay varias razones pero la principal es que Tokami (十神) se traduce en dos tipos: el kanji 神significa Dios y el carácter chino 十, que es “to” o “plus”, el cual traduce Dios Omnipotente, estar en todas partes y ser tan grandiosos como un actor o los mismos dioses.

C. B. ¿Cuáles son sus más grandes influencias musicales?

Agato. Gackt.

K. Uli Jon Roth.

Kazuha. Evanescence.

Reno. Marylin Manson.

1000. Megadeth.

C. B. Ustedes están listos para lanzar su ultimo single Luminiscence este mes. ¿Cuéntennos qué temas los inspiran a componer sus canciones?

Agato. La naturaleza humana y la sensación de pérdida de las personas.

C. B. ¿Cuál es ese “plus” para mantener a sus fans que estén siempre apoyando el sonido VK de Tokami hoy día desde el 2005?

Kazuha. El secreto de eso es simple, las presentaciones en vivo de la banda, son increíbles. Tienen que verlas.

C. B. Para ustedes, ¿cuál ha sido el concierto que jamás olvidarán? ¿Por qué?

1000. Starwave Records Festival, eso fue el 16 de junio del año pasado en el Shibuya O-WEST. Ver video.

C. B. ¿Conocen o han escuchado algún artista latinoamericano? (Si su respuesta es no, ¿qué les gustaría escuchar de Latinoamérica en cuanto a su música?)

K. Una famosa cantante colombiana llamada Shakira (risas). Y dos bandas muy famosas en Japón: Angra y Sepultura.

1000. Juan Pablo Montoya (risas).

C. B. Agradecemos su participación para el proyecto USB que promociona su música y la de otras bandas en Latinoamérica. ¿Cuáles son sus expectativas y deseos sobre este proyecto musical así como potencialmente ganar nuevos adeptos latinos para su banda?

Reno. Que sean capaces de amar el sonido del VK pero también poder presentarnos en vivo en Latinoamérica; espero que eso sea posible pronto.

C. B. ¿Cuáles son sus planes para este nuevo año 2015?

1000. Lanzar nuestro sencillo Luminiscence este mes. Y esperamos lanzar dos sencillos más este año. Ya tenemos 50 conciertos agendados en todo Japón.

New Year has started with good news for the Asian musical movement: releases of new productions on the horizon for this month, but specially for Japanese VK fans. On January 21^st Tokami will release his new single called called Luminescence; but also, the band will introduce in an official live his two new members: Kazuha guitarist and bassist Reno. Thus, Tokami adopts a new look for 2015 to download his VK sound renewing his vision to reach all directions with his music.

Since 2005, the band started playing by 1000 (Sen), his first vocalist Kaito and Tomo on guitar. His debut was in a concert held at the Urawa Narciss on April 2^nd, then went touring several venues in Tokyo. His recording career began with Shock Rock of the Darkness, released on 1/30/2006. In 2007, they released their albums Shock Rock of the Fragments and Silence of Angel. Later, Tokami lived output vocalist and guitarist but that did not stop his dream. In 2008 they released Mist of Cherry Blossoms and Rebirth of the Darkness. The 2009 came with the arrival of the current vocalist, Agato, so they have released his first DVD Nibiiro not love, hidarite sashidasareta. Cathedral is his best known album, released on August 23^rd, 2010. Since then, the band has always been on tours, live shots of her singles and albums and now with the addition of these two new members, Tokami becomes a solid quintet who will along 1000, guitarist K and Agato.

His wishes this 2015 is to go further to every corner where their VK fans can feast your ears. Therefore, they want to point to our Latin American region to join as International Guest for the next United Sound Bunka Vol. 5^th, Continental Edition, which will help them explore new followers, as the omnipotent gods but in the VK universe. C. B. Thank you very much to attend us in this interview for Colombia and Latin America. My first question is in a few words, how did you meet to play together? And, what’s meaning the name of the band?

1000. Such as they were an audition and friends who were supported us. There are various reasons about our name, but the main one is Tokami’s transcription is «十神» by a kanji “神” (God) along Chinese “十” (Plus). It means that Omnipotent God, and I’d like to be big as Actor or God.

C. B. What are your biggest music influences to feel inspired in create your own sound?

Agato. Gackt

C. B. You are ready to release your latest single Luminiscence on January. Tell us what kind of topics were your inspiration to produce it?

Agato. The nature of the person and sense of loss.

C. B. What is your highlight to keep your fans who are always supporting Tokami’s VK sound since 2005?

Kazuha. Highlights of Tokami are a live awesome performance. You should to watch it!

C. B. In the history of the band, what has been the most important concert that you will never forget? Why?

1000. Starwave Records Fest, on 6/16/2014 at Shibuya O-WEST. Video.

C. B. Did you know or did you hear any Latin America band or musician? (If your answer is no, what would you like to know of Latin America about your music?)

K. A Colombian artist knows SHAKIRA (Lol). Also, 2 Latin bands are famous in Japan: ANGRA & Sepultura.

C. B. We appreciate your participation for U.S.B. Compilation Disc to spread your music in Latin America. What are your expectations and wishes about this musical project and potential new Latin fans as well?

Reno: They can be able to love a good VK sound; also, we can play live at Latin America coming soon possible.

C. B. What plans do you have in 2015?

1000. We’ll release our single Luminiscence on January. It’s expected to release 2 single more in this 2015. Live is scheduled about 50 times in Japan.
