Saritote es de esos tríos musicales que rompen paradigmas. Osaka fue su casa matriz donde se conocieron para dar vida a esta banda, con aportes en la guitarra y voz de Kubo, junto con el bajista y programador Sakippe y el toque contundente pero sincronizado de la batería y las voces de fondo de Teccha, en el que el dance, el math rock, el alternativo y el ambient se mezclan con melodías electrónicas. Saritote es una palabra japonesa antigua que traduce “sin embargo”, por lo que podría decirse que a pesar de todo siempre habrá una manera de innovar, crear y romper estereotipos musicales. Gracias a ello, la banda se ha ganado un espacio entre sus fansy las estaciones de radio, quienes han sonado con fuerza en Osaka, Kyoto y Tokio. Nos atreveríamos a decir que un buen futuro alberga a Saritote en escenarios internacionales como el SXSW en los Estados Unidos o el Glastonbury Festival en Reino Unido. Mientras tanto, siguen componiendo nuevos temas después de su debut con su álbum homónimo el año pasado, disponible en iTunes y Amazon. Una anotación final: pueden descargar (gracias a la autorización de la banda) dos temas: Club Jungle y Room For Rent, canciones que muestran la frescura y la flexibilidad sonora de ellos.
Colectivo Bunka. Muchas gracias por aceptar esta entrevista para Colombia y América Latina. ¿Cuáles son sus mayores influencias musicales?
Saritote. Estamos influenciados por Björk, Sigur Rós, The Music, The Killers, American Football, Battles, Don Caballero y mucho más. El math rock que interpretamos es muy importante ya que es influenciado por Battles y Don Caballero; y las melodías hermosas que interpretan Björk y Sigur Rós, junto con el dance que tocan The Music y The Killers, también son la influencia musical de Saritote.
C. B. ¿Qué temas los inspiran para componer las canciones?
S. Siempre tocamos jam sessions. El jam ha sido hasta el momento lo que hemos hecho para un sonido más fresco.
C. B. ¿Cuál es su visión acerca de la actual escena indie japonesa en todo el mundo?
S. Uno de los objetivos de Saritote es ser elegidos como grupo oficial de Fujirock Festival, que es el evento más importante en la escena japonesa. Es emocionante saber que mucha gente va a bailar con nuestra música.
C. B. ¿Conocen de cualquier banda o músico latinoamericano? (Si su respuesta es no, ¿qué les gustarían saber de América Latina acerca de su música?)
S. Lo siento, la respuesta es no. Espero saber cuántas live house (casas de conciertos) existen en Latinoamérica y qué clase de género apoyan.
C. B. ¿Cómo es la escena de la música en Kyoto, Japón?
S. La mayor parte de la música en Kyoto es un sonido fresco y moderno.
C. B. ¿Cuáles son sus planes para este año?
S. Saritote tendrá muchos conciertos este año. Por ejemplo, vamos a presentar Satorite vol. 2 en Osaka el 21 de julio, y vamos a volver de nuevo el próximo 7 de septiembre para tocar Satorite vol. 3, también el próximo 17 de noviembre vamos a llevar cabo un show con Two Man y Shirikageru (シリカゲル).
C. B. ¿Cuál es su mayor sueño?
S. Nuestro mayor sueño es llegar a ser elegido como banda oficial en los festivales de Glastonbury.
C. B. ¿Qué banda japonesa en la actualidad nos puedes recomendar?

Saritote is one of those musical trios that break paradigms. Osaka was their headquarters where they met to give life to this band, with contributions on guitar and voice by Kubo, along with bassist and programmer Sakippe and touch strong but synchronized drums and background vocals by Teccha in which the dance, the math rock, alternative and ambient melodies mixed with electronic. Saritote is an ancient Japanese word that translates «however», so you could say that despite everything there is always a way to innovate, create and break down musical stereotypes. As a result, the band has earned a place among his fans and radio stations that have played strongly in Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. We dare say that a good future embrace Saritote in international stages such as SXSW in the U.S. or the Glastonbury Festival in U.K. Meanwhile, they continue writing new songs after his self-titled album debut released last year, available on iTunes and Amazon. Colectivo Bunka. Thanks for accept us this interview for Colombia and Latin America. What are your biggest music influences?
Saritote. We are influenced by Björk, Sigur Rós, The Music, The Killers, American Football, Battles, Don Caballero and more. Math rock played by Battles and Don Caballero is most important music for Saritote, and beautiful melody played by Björk and Sigur Rós, and dance music played by The Music and The Killers influence, too.
C. B. What topics inspire to compose the songs?
S. Always we play jam sessions. The jam has been last until very cool sound is made.
C. B. What is your vision about the Japanese Indie music scene around the world in the present day?
S. One of the goals for Saritote is to be elected as official partner of Fujirock Festival, which is most important event in Japanese scene. It is exciting that many people dancing with our music.
C. B. Did you know or did you hear any Latin America band or musician? (If your answer is no, what would you like to know of Latin America about your music?)
S. I’m sorry, the answer is no. I hope to know to how many live houses is in Latin America, and what genre is liven up.
S. Saritote will have many gigs this year; for example, 7/21 we will play Satorite Vol. 2 in Osaka, and we will return again next 9/7 performing Satorite Vol. 3; also, next 11/17 we’ll held a show with Two Man and Shirikageru (シリカゲル).
C. B. What is your biggest dream?
S. Our biggest dream is to be elected as official partner of Glastonbury Festivals.
